Prevention of diseases
One of the main goals throughout the war was to minimize poor sanitation. This included disposing of corpses, monitoring the atmosphere, protecting soldiers from disease, and assisting care to the soldiers who need it.
There were many diseases discovered during WW1, some which include:
-Typhus, Yellow Fever, Influenza, Trench Diseases, Cholera, Dysentery, Smallpox, Malaria, Typhoid
If a soldier were sick they were supposed to be quarantined all of their belongings were to be isolated from anyone else. With the discovery of numerous diseases, the concept of injecting certain medicines into your bloodstream to prevent the spread of disease came about. Which would now coincide with a flu shot. During WW1 was also the discovery of diabetes, which was 15 years before insulin was created. The only cure at the time was to diet.
